William Taylor Darden, better known as Billy, gained his angel wings on May 9th, 2026. He was the son of the late Charles Taylor Darden and Mary Turner Darden.
Billy was a man that could do anything! His love for airplanes led him to become an airplane mechanic and later an instructor at the school he attended. He later returned to the farm to do whatever was needed and managed the storage business.
He loved flying and went so far as to spray local farmers crops with his power parachute.
He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles and thought Donna was the best rider in the world. And if you know Billy, you know that he loved dressing in his Harley shirts and cowboy boots.
Building and flying model airplanes was his passion for many years and he would spend late nights working on a project.
He and his buddy, Trent Butler, would go fishing and spend time comparing lures and laughing! It wasn’t about the fishing though; it was the bond they shared and it meant the world to him.
Billy was a man whose goal everyday was to make someone laugh. He could be very funny, but he was also a man of few words. Billy was a man of great faith and his last words on this earth were “Help me Jesus”. His wish was granted and God took him to his eternal home. The memory of this jolly man will live forever.
His is survived by his wife Donna Darden; daughters, Kellie Bennett (Jessie) and Morgan Lambert (Matthew); grandchildren, Noah Potter, Carson Potter and Mason Lambert; sisters, Valerie Handy, Mary Rose and Yvonne Piland; and many nieces and nephews.
