Wendy Hope Thompson

Wendy Hope Thompson, 58, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was the daughter of Edith Louise Mowrey Jett and the late Conroy Vance Jett Sr. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Thomas Nelson Thompson II; daughters, Jenna (Alfredo), Emily (Holden) and Hannah; sons, Timothy, Nathan (Rachelle), Simon, Peter and Andrew; grandchildren, Dilma Hope and Cristofer; and a brother, Conroy Jett Jr.

Wendy dedicated her life to God, family, and music. She enjoyed the wonders of God’s creation, often gardening, canoeing, camping, and hiking. She raised her children with principles of joy, hope, and love. Wendy wrote her own music, and spent many years playing guitar with the worship teams at church. She is beloved by her family and we look forward to seeing her again!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at noon, at Smithfield Assembly of God. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse and/or Compassion International.
