Victoria Jean Anderson

Victoria Jean Anderson, 67, of Smithfield passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 after a short but brave fight with cancer.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Vicki grew up as the daughter of a US Navy Sailor, moving across the country and around the world. She met her beloved husband Gary in 1973 in Charleston, SC. They married in April of 1975 in Delavan, Wi. They soon started a family, and she spent 20 years as a Navy spouse with multiple relocations, meeting many wonderful friends along the way. Their last relocation was to Virginia Beach, Va, where they lived until 2007 before moving to Smithfield where they would retire.

She loved camping, crocheting, crafting, and playing cards. Most of all, Vicki loved her family. She was an incredible caregiver to many; always patient, always gentle, always kind. She was adored by her family and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Joann May Ridge Rowland, her loving husband of 47 years, Gary Lee Anderson; daughter, Tina Marie Anderson; son, Ryan Lee Anderson (Elizabeth); and brother, Gary Andrew Rowland (Lisa), along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Lee Rowland, and her brother, David Lee Rowland.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 2 p.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, Va. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Vicki and her family by donating to The American Cancer Society.
