Timothy Dale Downey

Timothy Dale Downey, 64 of Smithfield passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was the son of the late James Downey, Jr and Frances Adele Boothe Downey. He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Downey (Matthew); sons, Gavin Downey and Ryan Downey; grandson, Brixton; sister, Gloria Pait (Cliff); brothers, Robert “Mel” Downey, Jr (Grace) and Gary Downey (Angie); and his long-time companion, Karen Fabian; and his beloved dog, Nori Bell Von Strudel Fluffy Pants.  Timothy, was born on February 18th, 1958 in Newport News, VA. Tim, was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. His passions were restoring old cars, he enjoyed it more than anything. From the time he was a young adult up until his passing. Another love of his was football. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. He had a strong eye for detail and that made him so successful with his crafts. He will be missed tremendously and his memory will be carried on.
