Thomas Archibald Dorsey, III

Thomas Archbald “Archie” Dorsey, III, 84, of Surry, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was the son of the late Thomas Archbald Dorsey, Jr and Louise Hopkins Dorsey. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Louise Shaddock (Dave); a daughter, Julie and two grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Harrell; and a brother, William Craig Dorsey.

Mr. Dorsey attended Hampton High School and enjoyed a long career driving trucks for Marva Maid in Newport News, VA. He spent many years as a volunteer Fire Fighter with Hampton Fire Department. He loved the outdoors, and especially living in the country in Surry. He was an avid hunter, who enjoyed his time with his fellow hunters as much as he did the sport.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dana and Silas Pritchard for their love and care for Archie.
