Steven Wayne Bowler

Steven Wayne Bowler (65) passed away peacefully on Thursday July 26, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 11, 1953 in Hampton, VA to Marion & Betty Bowler.  He was a resident of Smithfield, VA, where he served his community as a former president of the Smithfield Kiwanis club and a State Farm agent over 30 years.  He was a graduate of Hampton High School, attended the University of Virginia, and graduated from Southern Mississippi.  Steve was an avid golfer, loved fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.  He is survived by his mother Betty Bowler, his wife Darnell Bowler of 35 years, four children; Ashley Matthews (Drew), Sarah Edwards (Andy), Kim McCandless, and Tim Minor (Jess).  Steve had 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by his brother Mike Bowler (Kris), sister Susan Davidson (John), and many loving nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Marion C.  Bowler.  Funeral will be held on Sunday July 29th, 2:00 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield with burial to follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Saturday July 28 from 5:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family ask contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.stjude.org.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
