Spencer Haverty Charette

Spencer Haverty Charette, 89, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.  She was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry Haverty and Olie Brannon Haverty.  She is survived by her son, David Walter Charette and his wife Karen; two grandsons, Anthony David Charette and Marc Brannon Charette. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry and Davie Haverty and a sister, Bonnie Haverty Brown.  Mrs. Charette was born on her family farm in Isle of Wight, she graduated from Smithfield High School.  Her passion was medicine, she became a Registered Nurse and was the Director of Nursing for Beverly Manor.  She lived in California for most of her life and moved back to the family farm in Isle of Wight, Virginia in her retirement.
