Sharon Lynn Warren, 68, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Born in Danville, Illinois, Sharon was the daughter of the late Leslie Gene Thompson and Daisy Gardner Dickens Thompson. When she was young she moved to Smithfield where she met the love of her life Randy. They married in 1977 and made their home in Smithfield. As a Smithfield High School Graduate, Sharon later attended Thomas Nelson Community College Business School and went on to work for the US Government at the Norfolk Shipyard and the Newport News Shipyard. Sharon was known to many around town more recently as the one who delivered the Daily Press every morning.
Sharon loved to travel with Randy and enjoyed great music. Sharon loved animals but her Cocker Spaniels Sunshine, Cheyenne, and Dakota always had a special place in her heart. She loved to babysit and spend time with her nieces and nephews, always trying to convince them to become Steelers fans with her.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Daisy Thompson, her sister Sandra, and her father-in-law John Warren. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Randy, her cousin Shirley Jones, her mother-in-law Alda Wray Warren, her brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
