Robert Beale Godfrey

Robert (“Bob”) Beale Godfrey, 68 was called to be with the Lord on June 2, 2018. He devoted 35 years of his life to teaching Marketing in the Isle of Wight County school system. He served as DECA coordinator for several years. His passions included baseball, golf, gardening, photography and fishing. Bob was the son of the late Elmer John Godfrey, Jr. and Nellie Godfrey Bateman. Bob is survived by his brother Elmer John Godfrey, III and wife Debbie; his aunt Gladys Beale Rose; his niece Shannon Godfrey Ferguson and husband, Craig; his nephew Elmer John Godfrey, IV and wife Ayca; his great-niece Melody Ferguson Fernaays and husband, Sean; his great-niece Dilara Anne Godfrey; his great nephews Hunter Coulbourn Ferguson and Elmer John Godfrey, V; and great-great nieces Nellie Lucille Fernaays and Isabel Grace Fernaays. A graveside service celebrating Bob’s life is to be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Luke’s Memorial Park, Smithfield, VA with the Rev. Michael Frank officiating.
