Robert Gannon, Jr.

Robert Gannon Jr, 50, of Smithfield passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was the son of the late Robert Gannon, Sr. and Evelyn Jane Rigney Gannon. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Aimee Lynn Gannon and their son, Cody.

Robert was a graduate of Princess Anne High School and built a career as a skilled painter and auto body technician. Known for his strong work ethic and remarkable ability to fix just about anything, he was the one people turned to when something needed repair. He had a passion for speed, whether it was on the road or out on the water, always drawn to anything that could go fast. But more than anything, Robert loved spending time with his son, Cody, whether teaching him hands-on skills or learning a few things himself, like how to fish. Their time together on the water and in the garage brought him deep joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, 7 p.m. at Green Acres Presbyterian Church, 3135 Hanley Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23703. The family will receive friends following the service.
