Robert Arnold Farley

Robert Arnold Farley 79, of Carrollton, joined his Heavenly Father and his beloved Sue, wife of 48 years, on February 10, 2022. He was born in Delbarton, W.V. to the late William Andrew Farley and Winnie Elizabeth Rife Farley. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Woolard Farley. Bob is survived by his son, Brian Buss, Sr (Paula); daughters, Lisa Bernd and Christina Farley; great nephew, Ethan Grady and great niece, Bella Grady; grandchildren, Steven, Brian Jr. (Heather), Jessica (George), Desiree (Brian) and Lorelei (Chris); ten great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Grigorio (George) and Janice Michitti; brother, Dale Farley (Pauline); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Beale and a brother, James Farley; his son-in-law Dean Bernd; and brother-in-law Benny Michitti. Affectionately known to many as Uncle Bob. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 2011. Bob had a heart for the Lord and his family.  He faithfully served in church as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, and also as a Royal Ranger Leader. Bob was an avid lover of Bluegrass music and always had a song in his heart to share. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, 5:30 p.m. at Smithfield Assembly of God, the family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:30 to 5:30.  A private burial will be held in the Albert G Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
