On July 11, 2017, Robert Fulton Faison, III, 61, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family. Fulton was born to the late Robert Fulton Faison, Jr and Bettie Bell Berryman Faison of Dendron. Raised on Chestnut Farm in Surry, a deep love for agriculture was instilled in him by preceding generations. And the highlight of his decades-long career as a farmer was proudly working alongside his son each day. Fulton was the patriarch of a very close-knit family, with whom he enjoyed taking vacations to the Outer Banks and attending classic car shows and NASCAR races. He was a member of the 700 Club and his life was greatly enriched by a strong Christian faith. Fulton is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Deborah Johnson Faison, a daughter Bettie Nicole Faison, a son, Robert Fulton Faison, IV, a sister, Deborah Faison Jones and her husband Thomas R. Jones, Jr, four nieces, Christen Clarke, Michelle Harry, Adora Bonham, and Brittany Boyer, a nephew, David L. Johnson, IV, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a loyal granddog Rusty “Woo Woo”. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon’s Castle, VA at 11 o’clock a.m. The family will receive friends at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 188, Surry, VA 23883.
