Robert William Berryman, III

Robert “Bobby” William Berryman, III, 84, of Yorktown, VA passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. He was the son of the late Robert William Berryman, Jr and Kathryne Louise Woolley Berryman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Cynthia Dudley Berryman. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Mary Gill Berryman; daughter, Kimberly Berryman Middlebrooks; son, Robert William Berryman, IV and his wife Georgette; grandchildren, Ronald, Haleigh, Dylan and Allie; great grandchildren, Devin, Raelynn, Ryan and Remi; sister, Kitty Berryman Crosby (Ed); and two nephews, David and Paul. Through his marriage to Mary he was blessed with additional family including, three daughters, Michelle, Brooke and Christina; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Bobby had a love for all sports, he enjoyed coaching, umpiring and helping with Little League Sports. He played on the Newport News Police Department softball team “The Smokey Bears”. He was an avid Virginia Tech fan, he loved the outdoors, and spending time hunting and fishing. He proudly served and retired from the Newport News Police Department after 30 years of dedicated service.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, 3 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA with burial to follow in Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon’s Castle, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the www.alz.org.
