Richard Owen Pascoe

Richard Owen Pascoe, 70, of Smithfield passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Rick was born in Goldsboro, NC on October 27, 1952. He was the son of the late James Wilson Pascoe and Annie Cleo Johnson Pascoe. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maria Theresa Pascoe; daughters, Kelly Wittwer (Jay), Leanne Rainey (Montage), Amanda Colón (Juan), Katie Orton (Terrell) and Morgan Downs (Michael); grandchildren, Amelia, Jada, Paige, Tatum, Aiden, Emersyn, Cheyanne, Rowen, Enzo, Luna, Norah and Maci; a sister, Teresa Edwards (Spencer); brothers, Randy Pascoe and Joey Pascoe (Lena). He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dan Pascoe. After Rick graduated from high school, he joined the Unites States Army where he served at the Presideo, San Francisco, CA. After he was discharged from the Army, Rick accepted a civil service position at the Navy Regional Finance Center which subsequently became FAADCLANT and Defense Finance Center, Norfolk. Rick worked in the OpForces Accounting Department where he later became a supervisor and then a Financial Analyst. In 2007, when DFAS was closed due to the Base Realignment, Rick accepted a Financial Analyst position at the Special Warfare Command, Joint Forces, Little Creek. He retired from there having served 42 years of federal service. After retiring, Rick worked in the UPS Store to keep busy. Rick had a great sense of humor and was loved and respected by everyone he met. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and he loved his dogs. Above all, Rick loved his wife, Theresa, their daughters and the rest of their family. Rick is irreplaceable in the lives and hearts of his family.  He will be greatly missed and we will carry him with us always. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 2 p.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
