Patrick "Pat" Smith McLaughlin

Patrick “Pat” Smith McLaughlin, age 60, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away suddenly on October 23, 2018.  Patrick was the son of the late Shad Royce McLaughlin and Osa Louise Smith McLaughlin.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years Diane Bailey McLaughlin; daughters, Stacie Blackwell (Chris), Stephanie Minga (Rob), Laurie Minga, Amber Mclaughlin (Rob), Mandi Nettles (Lomie) and Wendi Tate (Corbin); 13 grandchildren; sisters, Sally Nottingham (Ken) and Ginny Shaw (Kevin); brothers, Dave (Cindi), Tom (Laura), Mike (Lois); and host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the home of Joyce and Johnie Netherland, 109 North Street, Smithfield, VA 23430.   Friends and family are asked to bring a covered dish to the service.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o of Pam Jordan,18214 Farmview Lane, Windsor, VA 23487 or the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
