Patricia Ann Abernathy

Patricia Ann Hewitt Abernathy, 57, passed away February 4, 2020 in Riverside Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Patricia was born in Waynesboro, VA on August 15, 1962.  She moved to Smithfield in 1968.  She loved her family more than anything.  She was a strong protector of those she loved, and was the first person to call and check on everyone to make sure they were okay.  Patricia loved to fish, and spending time with her friends and family was her favorite thing to do.  Patricia was one of a kind and her personality was big, but her heart was even bigger.  Nobody can ever take her place in our hearts.  Patricia was predeceased by her parents, oldest sister and other family members from Augusta County.  She is survived by her loving and caring husband Clyde Abernathy.  He never left her side during her illnesses and for that, her family will be forever grateful.  She is survived by her children Amy and Sheldon.  She also leaves to cherish her memories her brothers and sisters, Fabian Bubba Hewitt, Becky Curtis, Marian Edwards and Mark Kelly.  She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.  Until we meet again, as she always said.  It’s not bye, it’s see ya later.  Services will be private.  A celebration of her life will be held at her home for her family and friends on Saturday, February 8^th, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com
