Melvena Vail Hutchinson

Melvena Vail Hutchinson, 88, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 in Riverside Healthy Living Community. The daughter of the late Lexus I. Vail and Gertrude Power Vail. Melvena was born in Houlton, Maine where she met her husband of 48 years, the late Asbra Raymond Hutchinson. Melvena was known by many for her long walks around her communities of Pagan Point and Red Point Heights, Smithfield. Melvena leaves to cherish her memories 4 daughters; Mary Jane Gilman (John), Rae Anne Hutchinson, Sue Jordan (Kenny), Joyce Hutchinson; son Mark Hutchinson (Garnett). 12 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Leonard J. Hutchinson and a grandson, John Gilman. Amemorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield on June 3rd.   The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Hodgdon Cemetery, Hodgdon, Maine. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
