Melva Eloise Robbins

Melva Eloise Robbins, 85, passed away on June 17, 2018 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Otis Gwaltney Brock, Sr. and Pearl Marie Bradshaw Brock.  A lifelong homemaker Eloise enjoyed the country life and lived on the family farm where she was raised.  She was a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church.  Eloise is survived by her daughter Grace M. Davis and son-in-law Jeff Davis, of Murfreesboro, TN, and her son Alvin F. “Bubba” Robbins Jr. of Ivor; grandchildren Kristina and Susanna Davis; sisters, Sally Wells and Stella Griggs; brother Otis G. Brock, Jr and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin F. Robbins, Sr.  A funeral service will be held on Friday June 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Mill Swamp Baptist Church, Ivor, VA with burial to follow in Mill Swamp Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
