Mary Louise Hall Jones

Mary Louise Hall Jones, 74, of Smithfield, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Watson Hall and Frances Powell Hall. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald Wayne Jones; daughter, Laurie Costello (Adam); grandchildren, Triton, Troy and Ava; and a sister, Donna West, and a host of other loved ones. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Wayne Jones; and her sister, Jo Anne Underwood.

Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, better known as Mer Mer, who was known for her strength, kindness, and good sense of humor. She lived with Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years. Even though MS took away her mobility, it never took away her spirit.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery, Smithfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.
