Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Kelly

Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Kelly, 78, of Carrollton, VA passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2023.  Kathy was born in Charleston SC and was the only child of the late Henry and Louise Honeycutt.  She was raised in Clinton, NC where she met her loving husband of 61 years, Bernice W. Kelly (BW).  She and her husband moved to Newport News in 1962 and settled in Carrollton in 1985.  Kathy was an amazing cook, loved playing games and Facebooking with friends on her iPad.  Most of all, she LOVED her family and had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren! They were the love of her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joe Kelly Sr. and Lorie (Jerry) Shepherd; grandchildren, David (Chelsea) Lancaster, Ashley (Jake) Thomas, Tyler Shepherd Edwards, Amanda (Brandon) Rhodes, Kyle (Aubrey) Shepherd and Joe (Miranda) Kelly Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Hailey, Loralei, Violet, Jane, and impending birth of Millie Mae and her extended family Steven Peed and Corey Hassell, and many loving friends she considered family.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday April 2, 2023 at 2 pm at Little’s Funeral Home in Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
