Mary Frances Irvine

Mary Frances Irvine, 90, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John Robert Ellis and Mary Cleo Holland Ellis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Coleman Irvine. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla I. and Frank Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey C. and Caren Irvine; grandchildren Kristi (James), Ryan, Cole (Whitney), and Brittany (Cory); great grandchildren, Josh, Dylan, Abigail, Reagan, and Kennedy, Jesse, Rip and Rowyn.

Mrs. Irvine worked for Home Telephone Company in Smithfield as an operator. She was a master seamstress, working at Fines Department store. Later she worked for Harvey Saunders in his rental business. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
