Mary Miller Hite

Mary Elizabeth Miller Hite, 80, of Smithfield passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.  She was the daughter of the late William Riddick Miller and Nannie Melissa Brown Miller.  Mrs. Hite is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank Hafer Hite; daughters, Stephanie Elaine Hite, Connie Hite Chapman, and Cheryle Hite Whitmore (Don, Jr.); grandchildren, Shelby, Cole and Mary; great grandchildren, Wiley and Leia; sisters, Peggy Lane, Betty Ann Fulgaro (Ray), Ruth Miller and Jackie Kowalchuk (Jim); brothers, William Riddick Miller, Jr (Peggy) and Robert Miller (Peggy); she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thurston Miller, Ted Miller and Leslie Miller.  Mary was a charter member of Ladies Auxilary of the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department; she was an avid bowler and loved to play and coach softball. She was very generous and always willing to help anyone.  A private graveside service will be held in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, VA.
