Mary Katherine Burgess

Mary Katherine Corron Burgess, 70, of Suffolk, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Frank Calvin Corron and Sally Edith Moody Corron. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dan Gilmer Burgess; sons, Jason Burgess (Courtney) and John Burgess (Kristen); her grandchildren, Myla, Murphi, Jack and Ashby; and her beloved dog, “Bandit”.

She was loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved children and enjoyed many years teaching in Suffolk Schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially time spent with Dan, at their farm in Waverly or with their extended family on the New River.

Mrs. Mary will be missed by her family and the many children that she taught and inspired throughout the years.
