Lawrence is also survived by his good friend and former wife, Vicki Wells.

He was preceded in death by his father Ashton Lee Wells, Sr., and Devoted Daughter in Law Tracy Wells.

Lawrence wasn’t just a Son, Brother, Uncle, Stepfather and “Pappy”, but he had a God given talent as a Mechanic! Lawrence enjoyed his work but just as much, loved getting to know people and finding true friendship which he was never short of. He not only loved the outdoors, but his truest passion was being in one of his boat’s fishing with family and friends, especially with his very best friend, Eddie Dail. Hobbies were endless with Lawrence, along with his love of fishing, he liked to hunt, he enjoyed golfing, he was an avid collector of antiques, and has been known to gamble a time or two!

Lawrence was an amazing cook and truly enjoyed being in his shop around his closest friends frying fish, playing a game of pool and entertaining. With the exception of his Superior Mechanical knowledge, anyone that knew Lawrence will agree he also had a good Heart and would do anything for anyone. Above all, he loved his Virginia “Family” and became even closer to his Momma since the passing of his father in 2021. In addition to his 3 stepchildren, Lawrence’s oldest niece April, was near and dear to his heart, much more like a daughter to him.

Lastly, he was never seen without his “four-legged girl” Bella! On May 18, 2023,  he lost his Chocolate Lab, Abby, but found comfort when he got a new Silver Lab who he leaves behind in the care of his brother Ashton.

Jesus got up from the stern of the boat, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
