Larry Joseph Carter, age 78, of Winston, Georgia, and a long-time resident of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on February 18, 2026. He was born in Newport News, Virginia on February 7, 1948, son of the late Joseph Hartwell Carter and the late Mable Keyton Carter. He was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his sisters: Susan Grimsley of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Kathy Carver and her husband Richard of Winston, Georgia.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 2 p.m. at Battery Park Baptist Church Cemetery in Battery Park.
