Karen Hines Johnson

Karen Hines Johnson, 66, of Battery Park, VA passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 with her family by her side.  She was the daughter of the late James Ray Hines and Helen Dale Hines. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mark Kent Johnson; sons, Mark Kent Johnson, Jr.; Taylor Ray Johnson (Heather); grandchildren, Brody, Barron, Ava and August. She loved her family and especially her grandkids and her dog Lucy.  She adored the Christmas season and decorating her Christmas trees. She worked for many years as a loan officer, before returning to the water to work alongside her husband on the crab boat and also owning her own seafood business.  She also loved her riding in her Ford Mustang. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield from 6 to 7 p.m.  A private graveside service will be held in Battery Park Cemetery.
