Joan Gay Roach, 90, of Pamplin, Va, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late, William Raleigh Gay and Leighanna Moore Gay. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of forty years, Donald R, Jones. After the death of Donald, she married Cecil Anderson Roach who passed away in 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Donna J. Reid (Ricky), Anna L. Kirchner and Joellen O’Neil (Brian); son, Donald Rodney Jones; grandchildren, Shelly, Ashley, John, Whitney, Sara, Brandon, Dustin, Kayla and Amanda; great grandchildren, Kalob, Eva, Keelson, Ethan, River, Bayleigh, Caidyn, Austin, Blaine, Layla, Penelope, Anna, Charlie, Lucas and Maddox; and great great grandchildren, Rhett and Sadie; and a special friend, Norman Vanderveer.
Mrs. Roach graduated from Smithfield High School and then had a long career at Smithfield Packing. She was lifelong member of Riverview Methodist Church. She loved the mountains and the beach, especially fishing and camping. After her retirement she moved to Pamplin, VA until here death.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, 11 a.m. at Uzzell’s UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com
