Jeffery Thomas Myers

Jeffery Thomas Myers, 59, of Franklin passed away on August 24, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was the son of the late George Shelton Myers and Rosalie Hambright Myers.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rita LaVonne Myers; daughters, Christina Fisher (Christopher), Leaither Lowder (Ryan), and Barbie Lara; grandchildren, Nadya, Nicholas, Ryan Jr, Victoria, Alexandria and Austin; sisters, Michelle Wright (Samuel) and Beverly Myers; brother, David Myers (Sandy); and a host of nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Myers.  Jeff proudly served in the U S Navy for 27 years, included tours in the Antarctic and Desert Storm.  After retiring from the United States Navy, Jeff began his second career as a project engineer at QED Systems Incorporation, where he worked among his beloved co-workers for 14 years.  He was an avid golfer and loved to ride his Harley motorcycles, he enjoyed cooking on the grill, completing home-improvement projects, spoiling his dogs and spending time with his family.  Jeff also dearly loved his wife, Rita.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, 1 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.  In honor of Jeff’s love for the outdoors the family suggest live plants in lieu of flowers.
