Jean Delores Wingfield

Jean Delores Davis Wingfield, 83, of Smithfield passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Leo Davis, Sr and Irene Elizabeth Andrews Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lamar Rush Wingfield and a son, Lamar Edward Wingfield.  She is survived by her daughter, Roberta W. Mielke; granddaughters, Caylin Jean Mielke, Chandler Anne Mielke, and numerous extended family members.

Jean accomplished many milestones throughout her life journey. Mayor and businesswoman but her most beloved titles were wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Jean was adamant in effectuating the actions of her roles with love, ingenuity, and fearlessness.

Jean was admired and cared about by those surrounding her. She carried a commendable leadership ability most would envy. Her lifelong ability to endure, hold a room's attention, and find humor was momentous. Even into her last days where she passed peacefully at home surrounded by family, friends, and God.
