Jay Reeve Henderson

February 20, 1933 — December 22, 2019

Jay Henderson, 86, a longtime resident of Pearl River, N.Y, was born on February 20, 1933 and died peacefully in his Chesapeake, VA home on December 22, 2019. 

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of sixty-five years.  Jay and his wife had three children, Robert(deceased), Diane (husband Keith), and Keith (wife Karen).  He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jenna, Jaclyn, Alec, and Julie.

Jay served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Orange and Rockland utilities after forty-four dedicated years.  He loved to play golf, hunt, and fish, but most importantly laughing and spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2020, 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA, the family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P O Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284, www.dana-farber.org/gift, in memory of his son Robert Henderson.
