Janice Marie Edwards

Janice Marie Edwards, 80, of Smithfield, passed away on January 30, 2022.  She was born November 11, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Thelma Dean “Sissie” Edwards.  And, the granddaughter of the late Lloyd Lafayette and Luberta Wren (Gwaltney) Edwards.  Janice was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  She loved to sing and taught herself to play the guitar. She shared her love of music at many local churches, the elderly in nursing homes and community.  A graduate of Smithfield High School, she worked for Gwaltney’s of Smithfield and retired after many years of service.  Janice always had a smile on her face and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  She especially enjoyed watching her younger cousins play sports and hosting family reunions. Janice is survived by her aunt Mrs. Evelyn (Edwards) Munford and numerous cousins.  The family would like to extend their thanks to the dedicated caregivers at Consulate Health Care of Windsor.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, 11 a.m. at Bethany Cemetery, Smithfield, Virginia.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to, Isle of Wight Humane Society, www.iowchs.org.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
