Jane Delk Batten

Jane Delk Batten, 93, of Smithfield, passed away on December 9, 2020.  Mrs. Batten was the daughter of the late William Merritt Delk and Emma Presson Delk.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Tazewell Petron “Pete” Batten, Jr.  She is survived by her sons, Lindy Wayne Batten (Marie) and Mitchell Delk Batten (Janet); grandchildren, Kimberley, Kevin (Charlie) and Shelley B. Cofer (Billy); and great grandchildren, Emma, Will and Anna.  Mrs. Batten was the oldest living member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church and the Women on Missions. She loved her church family and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved to cook and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, 11 a.m. in Mill Swamp Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Mill Swamp Baptist Church, 6329 Mill Swamp Rd, Ivor, VA 23866.
