James Gwynn “Jimmy” Hollingsworth, 91, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 1, surrounded by his family.  Jimmy was born on Dec. 3, 1927, in Hopewell, Virginia, to William Henry Hollingsworth and Edith Mae Whitley.  Jimmy served in the United States Army, working overseas in the Company H 26th Infantry. Jimmy served as deacon at Smithfield Assembly of God and was recently a member of Churchland Assembly of God. He had also been a member of the Carrollton Ruritan Club. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby, often making furniture and toys for his loved ones. He was preceded in death by brothers William Hollingsworth, Gary Hollingsworth, and Richard Hollingsworth, and sisters Louise Payne and Lois Coile.
