James Bertrum Godwin

James Bertrum Godwin, 79, passed away on September 28, 2018.  Jim was the son of the late Paul Richard Godwin and Bertha Foreman Godwin.  He is survived by his wife Sandra Meade Elkins Godwin; daughters Cindy Shapland (Daniel) and Karen Boyer (Jim); sons, Jimmy, John (Linda), Tony, Mike, J. D. Elkins; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; sister, Shirley F. Ledford.  Jim was a member of the Smithfield Masonic Union Lodge #18, the Khedive Shriners and the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonary.  Jim was a musician who loved singing and playing music, he enjoyed wood working as a hobby.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.  The family will receive friend following the service at the funeral home.
