Jack Wilbert Pittman, Jr

Jack Wilbert Pittman, Jr, 75, of Smithfield, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.  He was the son of the late Jack W. Pittman, Sr and Laura Grace Lowe Pittman.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Suzzann Stanton Pittman.  He is survived by his daughter, Mia Williams (Rob), son, Wayne Farr, grandchildren, Nicholas Farr (Mary), Macie Downing and Kendall Downing; great granddaughter, Delilah Farr; sisters, Fay Rogers, Jaqueline O’Berry (John D), Jane Jones (Randy); and many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Pittman.

Jack served proudly in the U S Army, where he served in Vietnam, he was a founding member and past Commander of the Smithfield VFW Post 8545. He was in the first graduating class of Tidewater Academy. He retired from Smithfield Packing Company after 40 years. He worked along side his friend Skip Sharpley at S and B Tent rentals. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2023, 11 a.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7, 2023 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
