Ivy Holland Little

Ivy Holland Little, 97 of Smithfield passed away on December 14, 2018 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Holland and Eska Crocker Holland.  Mrs. Little was the oldest member of Smithfield Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Vernon Little, Jr. and her daughter Linda Little Darden.  Mrs. Little is survived by her son, Lewis R. Little (Sandra); grandchildren, Ellen D. Couch (Craig), Thomas L. Darden, Jr. (Beth), Tracy Hassell (Donald), Melissa Babb, Robert Hobson (Karen) and Ross Hobson (Trish); thirteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and her sister, Judith H. Houchens.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Smithfield Baptist Church with a reception to follow in the family life center immediately following the church service.  Burial will follow in Mill Swamp Cemetery.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses who cared for Mrs. Little over the past six months, Angie, Phyllis, Desiree, Erin, Sonjia.
