Irving Travis Burns

Irving Travis Burns, 79, of Suffolk went to be with the lord on Sunday September 2, 2018.  He was the son of the late Irving Nelson Burns and Eleanor June Martin Burns. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Lou Saunders Burns; daughters, Karen Gregory (Hal) and Sharon Miller (Grady); grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Jordan, Hunter, Riley; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Marie Owens (Sonny) and Loretta Murray (Pete) and a host of nieces and nephews.  Travis attended Wilroy Baptist Church, Suffolk, he was a member of Masonic Lodge 131, Glen Allen, VA and a Shriner with Acca Temple.  In his retirement he enjoyed his time on the golf course.  He lived his life by the motto “Give me true friends and music and life will be a pleasure”. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Historic St. Luke’s Church, 14477 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA.
