Helen Thacker Johnson

Helen Thacker Johnson, 97, of Surry passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Marsden Thacker and Miriam Batten Thacker. Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Nelson Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Nelson Johnson (Susan) and Herbert Keith Johnson (Shannon); grandchildren, Kelly Marie Johnson (Brad), Jeffrey Nelson Johnson and Herbert Trent Johnson; great grandchildren, Cash, Dylan, Easton and Austin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson was the oldest living member of Bacons Castle Baptist Church where she remained devoted throughout her life. She was a faithful mother and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
