Francis Richard Correia

Francis Richard Correia, a retired Pipefitter and U.S. Army veteran, passed away on October 15, 2023, in Suffolk, Virginia. He was 75 years old.

Born on March 8, 1948, in Fall River Massachusetts, Francis was the beloved son of the late Lewis Correia and Deolinda Freitas Correia. His father and mother were a source of inspiration and support throughout his life.

After completing his military service, Francis pursued a rewarding career as a Pipefitter. With dedication and commitment, he honed his skills in this profession and had a significant impact on the local community where he worked.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Francis enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family. He cherished the moments shared with loved ones, creating many unforgettable memories that will be treasured for years to come. He volunteered as a Cub Scout Packmaster for many years and the Portsmouth High School Football Team Equipment Manager.

Francis was a devoted spouse to his loving wife Isabel Mary Beirola Correia. Their enduring bond served as an inspiration to many couples within their community. Together they built a strong foundation filled with love and unwavering support, nurturing their relationship throughout the years.

As a proud father and grandfather, Francis leaves behind a legacy within his family that will continue for generations. He is survived by his sons Stephen Francis Correia (Elizabeth) and Matthew Joseph Correia (Alissa). His grandchildren Kristian, Daniel J., Daniel L., Brian, and Aimee held an indescribable place in Francis's heart as he cherished each moment spent with them. He is also survived by his sisters Madeleine Cordeiro and Eilleen Gomes and his brothers Louis Correia and Robert Manuel Correia and predeceased by his brother Richard Jesse Correia.

Francis Richard Correia will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His dedication to his profession, love for his family, and commitment to serving his country are a testament to the remarkable person he was. May he be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
