Floyd Ducote

Floyd Ducote,83,went to be with his Lord on January 5, 2024.  He was the son of Valerian Ducote and Florence Ducote, and was preceded in death by his siblings and his son, Willian Floyd Ducote.  He is survived by his cherished wife of 45 years, Diane, and his beloved sons, Vince (Shannon), Randy, and Earl (Rachel).  He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Jessica Ducote (Terry), John Ducote (Haily),Joshua Ducote, Brooke Ducote, Addison Ducote, Jaxon Ducote, Blake Ducote (Logan), Trent Ducote, Michelle Hancock and Fury Groen, and four great-grandchildren, Tristan Ducote, Tyler Balsor, Elizabeth and John Ducote.

 

Floyd was a proud Cajun man, who made a mean pot of gumbo and fiercely loved his God, family and LSU Football.  He mentored and coached many Smithfield children in football and T-ball , which he considered a great privilege.. He was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church, and was retired from the Pipefitters and Welders Union, after over 40 years of service.  He is also survived by his "chosen" family, Bea and Monica Mills-Desroches, Ann Grant and Harry Bidwell, as well as his fur baby, Chloe June.

 

A funeral service will be held January 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Carrollton Baptist Church, with visitation and reception following.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HUWE Nonprofit for HUWE1 genetic related conditions, (EIN:86-1930096, HUWE1.org) or a charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
