Ernest Parker Jones

Ernest “Doodle” Parker Jones, 81 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 18, 2018. Born in Isle of Wight County to the late Robert Davis Jones and Sarah Taylor Jones. Ernest was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired farmer. He is survived by his daughters Darlene Jones, Lisa Bradshaw (Ronnie) and his son Ernest Davis Jones (Dee) and his step daughter Jenny. Ernest had 18 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Martha Lee Fry, sisters Katie Brock, Lucy Atkinson and Dorothy Jones-Stroud, brothers Gus Jones and Charlie Jones, and 3 stepchildren Russell, Nita, and Debbie. A funeral service will be held at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, Va, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 2 p.m., Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Interment to follow at Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
