Dorothy Anne Robinson, 90, of Carrollton, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2025. She spent the final days of her life keeping up with her family and talking about her eternal home with Jesus. She was always surrounded by the love of her family.
Dot was born to James Anthony and Marie Theresa Butt of Norfolk, Va. and was one of 6 children. Dot is predeceased by her husband, John B. Robinson. Together they built a large family and left quite a legacy. Dot lived a long and full life devoted to her family and her faith. She grew up at Christ the King Catholic Church in Norfolk and attended Norfolk Catholic High School. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Smithfield VA. She loved and looked forward to going to church every opportunity she could. She was an active member of the Divine Mercy Group at Good Shepherd where she had many precious friends and loved every single lady there. She loved the Lord and served Him with all her heart her whole life.
Dot worked as a secretary before her children came along. She was a stay at home mom, always present for them. After her children were grown, she worked at Saint Francis De Sales Catholic Church in MD. She also had a heart for the unborn and volunteered for many years at De Paul Hospital providing assistance for single mothers in need.
Left to cherish memories of her are five children, Donna Robinson of Phoenix, AZ, Bobby (Sherry) Robinson of Salisbury MD, Brad (Laura) Robinson of Salisbury, Kellie (Jim) O’Brien of Carrollton VA, and Steve (Tracy) Robinson of Salisbury; 16 Grandchildren, Christen, Blake, Bryan, Courtney, Blair, Kimberly, Jake, Luke, Elizabeth, Melissa, Victoria, Rebekah, Hannah, Carter, Kai and Quinn; and 27 Great Grandchildren.
Her life was a testament to strength, grace, and love for her savior. She faced adversity with God’s help and grace. She demonstrated unwavering faith. Dot will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her wisdom, and the warmth she shared so freely. She was a prayer warrior, always lifting up the needs of her family to the Lord and walking in faith. That was the greatest gift she left us. She created a home filled with love and her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of those she nurtured and inspired.
A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Friday, July 18, at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Smithfield, VA. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a woman whose presence made the world a better place.
