Doris Daughtrey Jones

Doris Daughtrey Jones, 68, of Smithfield passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late James Ralph Daughtrey and Ruby Clarine Ward Daughtrey.  She is survived by her daughter, Angela Renee Jones; sons, Douglas Wayne Jones and Mark Allen Jones I (Crystal); grandchildren, Nick, Jordan and Cameron.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Jones II; sister, Deloris Cook; brothers, Donald Wayne Daughtrey, David Daughtrey and Lee Underwood; daughter in law, Lisa Jones; and numerous half siblings. Ms. Jones was an avid reader, she loved gardening and caring for her plants, but most of all she loved being “Gram”. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.  Burial will be private in Mill Swamp Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Pam Jordan, 18214 Farmview Lane, Windsor, VA 23487.
