Deborah Ann Smith

Deborah Ann Smith, of Hampton Roads, passed away on her 65th birthday, September 30th, 2022. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Cover and Elizabeth Julia Cover. She is survived by her husband Donald Earle Smith Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Blakely and son-in-law Sierra Blakely; daughter Melissa Goss and son-in-law Tim Goss; daughter, Elizabeth Gearhart and son-in-law Curtis Gearhart; and their five children Savannah, Micah, Nathaniel, Silas, Lorelai; her brother, Richard Cover; sister, Pamela Davidson; mother, Elizabeth Cover.

Her greatest desire was to be a mother and grandmother and she excelled at her dream. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grammy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her flowers. Deborah was devoted and kind. She left a legacy of prayer, compassion, and Christian love. Everyone who knew her, knew her as a Godly, elegant, soft spoken, wise woman. Deborah was an avid supporter of Samaritan’s Purse. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to  honor her memory.

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at Little’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service at their home in Smithfield. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
