David Arnold Birch

David Arnold Birch, 84, of Norfolk, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.  He was the son of the late Arnold Birch and Laverne Steffen Birch.  Mr. Birch was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Jean Birch.  He is survived by his sons, Michael Birch, Greg Upton and Sean Poole (Rachel); daughters, Elaine Upton, Cheryl Horton and Cindy Nuckols & husband (Brythe); grandchildren, Shane, Seth, Sean, Kalyn, Amanda & Jesse; and great grandchildren, Bridget, James, Kaidan and Lucas.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Steffanie Ferguson and a son, Tom Upton. Mr. Birch served in the U S Navy and U S Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a Life Member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fleet Reserve, and an Elite member of the 40/8 club. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, with his son and grandchildren. A Service will be held on Thursday 12, 2022, 3:00 pm at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
