Smithfield

Daisy Monica Arthurs, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026, at the age of 84. Her transition was a beautiful reflection of divine design, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.

Born in Portland, Jamaica, on December 30, 1941, to the late Daisy and George Clarke, Daisy , also known as “Kitty”, possessed a strong spirit of purpose and determination.

Her journey took her from Jamaica to Canada and eventually to Chicago, Illinois, where she married Milton Arthurs, her devoted and loving husband who preceded her in death. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around love and family, raising their three sons, Michael, Ricky, and Marc.

In Chicago, she discovered her true calling as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Jackson Park Hospital, dedicating her life to healing others.

As the cherished baby girl of the family, she is survived by her brothers, Gladston and Livy, and her sisters, Myrle,Dorothy, Girly, and Blossom, while being reunited in heaven with her siblings who preceded her in death. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She instilled the values of hard work and unity in her sons; lessons that bore beautiful fruit as they tag-teamed her care with deep devotion during her latter days. Her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren:

• Michael & Anna Bennett (Smithfield, VA) and children, Justin Hudson and Madison Bennett.

• Ricky & Chineita Tinglin (Clarksville, Tennesee) and children, Roderique DeAndre’ Tinglin and TaShea’ (Tinglin) Moore.

• Marc & Kenyetta Arthurs (Tampa, FL) and children, Xavier and Julian Arthurs.

Daisy was a woman of profound faith and elegance. She passed away peacefully just as she lived: with gentle dignity, completely wrapped in the boundless love of her children. Her earthly hands are now at rest from a lifetime of caring for others, her long journey is beautifully complete, and she has safely returned home to her heavenly father.
