Dakota Matthew Gordon

Dakota Matthew Gene Gordon, 18 of Smithfield passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2017. Dakota was the son of Maranda and Michael McKinney. He is also survived by his son Aydan Cook, a sister Lyndsy Gordon and two brothers Tyler Gordon and Richard Moore, III.   His grandparents Mark and Pamela Wilcox, Kella and Alice Herald and Ned and Karen Giggy. His great-grandmother Sumiko Herald. His Aunt Sarah Brown (Nick) and Uncles Robert Olejniczak (Sara) and Christopher Herald. Many other extended family members.   “Kota” as he was known from birth loved music and time spent with his friends and family. He was a past member of the Smithfield High School JROTC, had played football and wrestled for many years at New Prairie, Indiana. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7 at 2 p.m. at Little's Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m.  burial will take place in Indiana.
