Cynthia T. Roach

Cynthia Jeanette Thomas Roach (affectionately known as “Cindee”) was born on August 11, 1948 to Roy and Bernice Thomas. After a full and beautiful life, she began dancing on streets of gold with her Savior and the ones that had gone before her on the morning of February 3, 2023. Cindee graduated in 1966 from Smithfield High School and went on to complete a secretarial course at Key’s Coastal Business College in Norfolk, VA. She held several positions in her chosen field, ultimately becoming Office Manager of the Counseling Department at Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, VA until her retirement in 2002. Cindee was warned about sailors in Norfolk but ignored the advice when a smooth talker from Arkansas swept her off her feet in 1967. She married Shelby V. Roach at Benn’s United Methodist Church June 1, 1968. This year they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Cindee was a loving Wife, Mom and “Nonni”. She dedicated her life to her Christian walk, loved decorating, taking mountain road trips with her husband, collecting antiques, giving tea parties, and soaking up every minute she could with her grandbabies. Left to cherish her memory are her husband; daughter, Krissy Mason, son in law, Todd Mason; grandson, James Mason; granddaughter, Jemma Mason; brother, William Thomas; sister, Anne Beale, brother-in-law, Aubrey Beale; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. She was diligent in her faith until the end. She was truly a reflection of her best friend, Jesus. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 1:30 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, 1515 S. Church Street, Smithfield, VA 23430.
