Cheryl DiSalvo, 66, of Surry VA, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 30, 1959, in Mexico City, Missouri, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Clay and Mary Niemeyer. She grew up alongside her sisters, namely Cindy Nelson and Joan Boyle.
Cheryl was the proud and devoted mother of two sons, Daniel DiSalvo (Amanda) and Dennis DiSalvo (Heather). Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, Grayson and Lillian DiSalvo, whom she adored beyond measure. Cheryl’s home was always filled with the warmth of family and the happy chaos of her cherished animals, each one a treasured member of her heart.
For many years, Cheryl worked as a dedicated administrative assistant in the HVAC and plumbing industry, where her organizational skills, kindness, and calm presence made her a valued colleague and friend.
Cheryl is survived by her sons Dan (Amanda) and Dennis (Heather); her grandchildren Grayson and Lillian; her sisters Cindy (Rick) and Joan (Jerry); and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her gentle spirit and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Mary Niemeyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a local animal rescue or shelter in Cheryl’s memory, reflecting her lifelong love for animals, or simply asking that you hug your loved ones a little tighter in her honor.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at Little’s Funeral Home in Smithfield, VA on Monday December 1, 2025 at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com
Cheryl lived a life rooted in love-for her children, her grandchildren, her pets, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though she is gone, the warmth she gave this world will never fade.
