Charlotte Ann Harrup Wells was born to the late Charlie G. Harrup, Sr. and Edna Velvin Harrup on November 2, 1940, and passed away on November 18, 2025.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother C. G. Harrup, Jr. (Jean).
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Pamela A. Wells of Charles City and Monroe Wells of Smithfield; her precious grandchildren, Madison Wells and Russ Wells, of Smithfield; her brothers, John Robert Harrup (Louise) of Courtland and Kurt Raiford Harrup (Ann) of Lynchburg; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly. Always lots of laughing, joking and singing around the piano when she was around!
She loved sports – a diehard Washington Redskins and UNC Tarheel fan. She always attended her children and grandchildren’s sports and activities, drove many miles to support them and loved every minute. She loved helping people and working with people. She loved cooking big meals for her family and friends, especially fried chicken and chocolate cakes!
A private burial will be at her homeplace in Joyner (Capron), with a visitation on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Isle of Wight Rescue Squad or the Smithfield Fire Department.
